I love that I get to work with amazing folks, all who have diverse properties, styles and needs. For some, I just go in and give a great face lift, others we rearrange the rooms and spaces,  and some we get down and dirty and take down walls and more. Each and every project is a joy and unique. May 27th: Portland, Oregon: I'll be at Rejuvenation again for their Portland Flea Market event, signing books just for an hour or so.  Around 1 p.m. See you there.  

June 1, 2 ,3: Rhinebeck, New York:  Country Living Magazine Fair in Rhinebeck, New York. Not only will I be giving presentations, book signings and workshops throughout the weekend - I have a booth! The BEFORE and AFTER of Bear Mountain Inn, Maine

What an amazing project! IT'S OFFICIAL: I've decided that I LOVE LOVE LOVE to re-design inns, bed & breakfasts,  boutique size motels and hotels, vacation rentals and small resorts. Bringing these special places back to life brings me such joy! And the people I get to work with become dear friends. Big thank you to Brian and Julie Sullivan for reaching out to me only a week after they bought Bear Mountain Inn asking me to be their designer. They were excited and anxious to do the renovation and together we came up with a plan that would keep the charm but make it an inviting and refreshing place to stay. Only a few more details to go and the place will be ready for your visit. STYLING WITH SALVAGE is HERE!

At last, my third design book, Styling with Salvage, has released. On Tuesday, April 3rd, thousands of books will ship to folks and I'm soooo hoping they will love it as much as I do. :)  Putting a book together is a lot of work and a lot of joy!  From weeks of interviewing, scheduling, flights, driving, styling, photographing, to writing, rewriting, and rewriting about 4 more times to final proofs and the long wait for the printing. :)  My absolute favorite part is meeting all these amazing folks who use salvage in their design, work and artistry. They are incredibly creative and I'm honored they wanted to be a part of the book. Thank you again for coming along on this journey.  Thank you Susan Teare for the amazing photos and Countryman Press for publishing and Sharon Bowers for being a thoughtful and kind agent.

BEFORE and AFTER: Design Work for Motels, Hotels, Inns, Vacation Rentals

Who doesn't love a good before and after story.  So here it is. I have about 10 other projects I have not had the chance to get photographed yet -- so hopefully, there will be a sequel to this soon. But I thought it would be fun to compile a few of the fun renovation stories in the hospitality industry that I've been involved in.  I love redoing, renovating and refreshing  old outdated motels, boutique-size hotels and teaming up with amazing firms like TruexCullins Architecture and Interiors (who I've done 5 fun projects with so far and looking forward to many more) on design projects and refresh projects. These are just a few of the projects I've had the privilege of designing for -- whether it's just a budget-friendly refresh or an all out -- let's take it down to the studs -- I'm game!
